The YMCA operates for the good of people and communities rather than for a profit. Our mission is to create opportunities for better health and wellness and provide a community where everyone belongs. Through charitable donations, fundraising, and other sources, we are able to offer financial assistance and deliver targeted community initiatives so that anyone in our community can participate in YMCA programs.
How is the YMCA funded?
YMCA operations are made possible through a sustainable model that mixes revenue from philanthropy, government funding, and fee-for-service programs.
Investments from our government illustrate that the YMCA is a trusted charity delivering essential services. However, government funding does not cover some of the key community initiatives we need to offer for our communities to reach their full potential.
Isn’t the YMCA of Greater Moncton just a gym and swim?
Your YMCA is more than a gym & swim. It’s a cause. We do offer health and fitness programming, but we also deliver licensed pre and after-school childcare, day camps, youth programs, homelessness prevention and diversion, alternative education, youth leadership and more!
How does the YMCA of Greater Moncton use donations?
You can choose to direct your donation to a specific impact area or program of your choice. When you give to the Y, you believe everyone deserves the chance to shine!
Will I receive a tax receipt?
Yes, we will send you a tax receipt for gifts greater than $10. If you become a monthly donor, we will provide you with a single, consolidated receipt at the end of the year for your tax return.
